How Much Does a Wedding Photographer Cost

Wedding photography prices vary a lot, and comparing quotes is not always easy because each photographer includes different things. Here I explain what affects the price and what should be included.

What affects the price

  • Hours of coverage: just the ceremony or the whole day, from getting ready to the party.
  • Travel: weddings outside the photographer’s usual area involve travel and sometimes accommodation costs.
  • Printed album: a hardcover album has design and printing costs.
  • Video: when done by the same team, it goes into the same quote.
  • Extra sessions: an engagement session before the wedding, for example.

What should be included

A serious quote should make clear the hours of work, the approximate number of photos, the delivery time and format, and anything charged separately. Be wary of very low prices with no explanation: selecting and editing a wedding takes several days of work after the event.

How much it costs with me

My weddings start from €690 with the Essential Package: coverage from the ceremony to the cake cutting, a private online gallery, all edited photos in high resolution and delivery within 7 days. From there you can extend the coverage, for example to getting ready, or add a hardcover printed album.

How to adjust the budget

Grouping the important moments into a shorter period, for example taking the couple’s portraits right after the ceremony, lets you book fewer hours without losing the essentials. Weekday or off-season weddings also tend to have more dates available.

See the wedding photography packages, read how to choose a wedding photographer or ask for a quote with the date and venue.
